We are still enjoying our stay at Lindenwood Campground in
Fargo. I’m using Starbucks as an
internet source first thing in the morning and like watching the long lines at
the drive-up window as I sit outside on their patio. After breakfast on Friday, Vi and I went
shopping at Walmart to pick up some necessities. Ken and I had made plans to go play golf
(nine holes at Village Green in Moorhead) while Vi met up with Karen and spend
the afternoon with her. Fun golf, mostly
because I hadn’t played in a while. We
won’t talk about score. Course was a
public course with lots of water and sand.
Good condition, but really fast greens.
In the late afternoon, Vi and I met back at the RV (still
unnamed) to get ready for Colin’s party.
We got there a little early and I got some pictures of the very cool
set-up which Michelle and Adrian had put together – with lots of help from
Colin and Ryan. Michelle had done a
fantastic job with picture boards along two sides of the garage, depicting
Colin’s life through graduation.
Tables
were set up in the garage with stand-up tables on the driveway.
A buffet dinner was set up on the third side
of the garage with Melissa, Melinda, and Melanie doing the serving.
Great food by K&K Katering (who had done
previous events for them from weddings to graduations).
Both Kathys (hence the K&K) are close
friends of the family and we have enjoyed meeting them over the many trips back
to North Dakota.
It was a great evening with lots of neighbors, friends,
family, etc. in attendance. Colin’s
scout troop stopped by before they left on a trip. Both Ryan and Colin are Eagle Scouts, so that
was kind of neat. We really enjoyed
meeting some new friends and talking with family. Always nice to have a great occasion to get
everyone together. Later some of us
moved to the backyard where the patio furniture was more comfortable 😊.
There was a threat of rain so some of the outside accoutrements, i.e. tent and
stand-up tables, were quickly dismantled and everyone moved into the
garage. It had been rather warm and
humid; however, the incoming front quickly cooled it off. Back to the campground after a very fun evening.
